This is our best performer for removing VOCs and trace organic chemicals including pesticides. Also recommended for MTBE reduction.

Made differently to perform better: Made of Compressed Powdered Activated Carbon (macroporous plant-derived coconut shell) these contain about 19.25% more carbon by weight than our premium Matrikx +1 extruded carbon block and contains less "binders" mixed with the carbon, so the carbon has more available contact area (bonding sites) to adsorb more molecules.
Maximized adsorption capacity due to industry-leading carbon particle available surface area.

Laboratory tests have confirmed that these are in fact a super-performing carbon block based on the measured Iodine # (ability to adsorb Iodine) - as compared to other name brand carbon blocks. This higher Iodine # indicates an increased ability to adsorb more smaller molecular weight organic molecules.

Reduces Chlorine, Taste, and Odors for >5,000 Gallons or up to 1 year (whichever is less)
Reduces trace VOCs / Chloroform for 1,000 gallons (0.3 ppm chloroform @ .75 GPM with >90% reduction) (We recommend 500-700 gallons for even better performance because 0.3 ppm is a small value.)

Effective for MTBE reduction according to the manufacturer.
