FYI: We do not recommend passing RO purified water through copper pipes (or pipes containing any lead) do to the water's ability to dissolve the copper which you then drink. So for example, replace the copper tubing running to your refrigerator with some appropriate polyethylene (not PVC) tubing.

When functioning properly, RO membranes deliver high rejection rates for: water softening salt, microorganisms, bacteria, virus, cysts, Nitrates, Fluoride, and toxic metals including: Lead (>99%), Arsenic, Mercury, etc.
Reverse osmosis removes odors, color, and other organic compounds which contribute to bad taste or health concerns.
Notice: A Reverse Osmosis Water System membrane requires a pressure greater than 50 PSI to function properly. The R.O. filter cartridges (before the membrane) cause a 6-7 PSI pressure drop (when new) which actually increases as the filter cartridge is being used. All things taken into account, for proper performance we recommend a Pressure Boosting Pump (as shown below) for your RO System if your household water pressure is not 63 PSI or greater. Find out what your water pressure is. Well pumps are labeled, or adjustable, or have a pressure gauge. We also sell an inexpensive pressure gauge you can use to measure your water pressure.
Notice: Water service pressure above 95 PSI require you to install an inexpensive Filtamate Pressure Limiting Valve.

If you want some serious protection against bacteria, virus, chlorine-resistant Cysts, and other water-borne infectious diseases then UV sterilization of water after RO purification is your solution.
